# Figure plan — fictional organoid study

Teaching content. All entities, results and experiments below are fictional.

## Central contribution

Protein X supports organoid expansion. X depletion and rescue connect the observed growth phenotype to X function in this assay.

## Evidence and figure order

Four independent donor cultures are paired across control, knockdown and rescue conditions. Organoid area is assessed at 72 h. The fictional summary reports a 35% reduction after depletion and restoration to 95% of the matched control after rescue. No X–Y interaction was detected in the described co-immunoprecipitation assay.

| Figure | Question | Panels | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fig. 1 | Does X support organoid expansion? | A, depletion; B, rescue; C, protein validation; D, dose response | Central functional discovery |
| Fig. 2 | What could explain the growth dependence? | A, interaction assay with input/IgG/positive controls; B, proposed model | Mechanism question and next test |
| Fig. S1 | How robust are the readouts? | Donor-level measurements and segmentation checks | Supports interpretation of Fig. 1 |

## Panel inventory

| Panel | Comparison/readout | State | Next action |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1A | Knockdown vs control, paired organoid area | teaching-summary-only | Obtain donor-level source table before plotting |
| 1B | Rescue vs empty vector, paired area | teaching-summary-only | Obtain actual replicate values |
| 1C | Protein-level perturbation validation | missing | Supply source image and processing record |
| 1D | Dose response and recovery | missing | Plan and execute the assay |

## Assembly

Use separate main and supplemental PowerPoint decks. Each complete figure occupies one slide. Keep panels and letters independently selectable. Show missing evidence as a dashed, named placeholder. Choose final dimensions from content and applicable journal rules. Audit source/placement scaling and inspect the actual exported figures.

This plan is an editable Markdown example, not a completed PowerPoint deck or experimental dataset. The browser layout is an illustrative preview.
